Position Title: Career Officer
Location: Based in Beirut Center with visits to Wadi Zeine and Tyre/Buss camp
Reports To: Program Coordinator
Contract Duration: [6 months]

- 1. Background
Fraternity Association for Social Cultural Work implements youth livelihoods programs focused on enhancing young people's access to economic opportunities through training, career development, and job placement. The Career Officer plays a central role in helping youth navigate pathways to employment or entrepreneurship by providing career counseling, soft skills training, and employer connections.
- 2. Purpose of the Position
To provide career guidance, job placement support, and mentorship to youth participating in livelihoods programs, ensuring a smooth transition into decent work or business opportunities.
- 3. Key Responsibilities
Career Guidance & Counseling
- Conduct one-on-one and group career counseling sessions for youth participants.
- Guide youth in developing career goals, CVs, and application strategies.
- Support participants in understanding local labor market trends and opportunities.
Soft Skills & Employability Training
- Assess individual youth needs and provide tailored coaching and follow-up.
- Promote inclusion by adapting approaches for young women, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.
Job Placement & Employer Engagement
- Identify and engage with employers, training institutions, and job platforms.
- Organize job fairs, internship placements, workplace visits, and networking events.
- Track employment outcomes and support youth during onboarding and probation.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain records of youth progression, counseling sessions, job placements, and follow-ups.
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and donor reports with career services data.
- Document success stories and lessons learned for program improvement.
Partnership & Coordination
- Work closely with trainers, program officers, and private sector partners to align training and job opportunities.
- Participate in local employment forums or technical working groups to stay updated on market trends.
- Support entrepreneurship referrals where self-employment is a suitable pathway.
- 4. Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Career Guidance, Psychology, Social Work, Human Resources, Education, or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in career counseling, job placement, youth mentorship, or livelihoods programming.
- Understanding of youth development, labor markets, and employment barriers.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with vulnerable or marginalized youth is an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office and digital platforms for job matching or counseling.
- Fluency in English and [Local Language].

The Career Officer reports to the Program Coordinator and collaborates closely with the Training Officers, MEAL team, and employer partners.
