Duty Station/Location: El Buss Camp (Tyre)
Working Days: 6 days a week (Monday-Saturday) from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm
Project Duration: Until 31st of Dec. 2024 (renewable based on performance and availability of fund.)
Terms of reference for the PSS animator position at Fraternity association
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Animator role is to help and support stimulating, encouraging participation and interaction between children in a safe and secure environment. The purpose of this position is to provide psycho-social support to the vulnerable children through the implemented psychosocial support activities in the Centers.
Contract Duration: 7 months (Renewable)
Type of contract: full time
Salary: 400$
Duties
1- Facilitate project’s implementation:
- Identify and Receive children and parents from the community, schools, NGOs and other stakeholders.
- Implement organization’s monthly plan.
- Plan and implement the daily activities and share the work progress periodically.
- Prepare and conduct PSS activities using different PSS tools, kits, and techniques.
- Organize and supervise games and other recreational activities to promote physical, mental, and social development.
- Establishes a rotation system to promote the sharing of equipment and games between children.
- Ensures that children feel comfortable, safe and respected.
- Provide children with special needs with the needed support.
- Supervise and treat children with dignity and respect.
- Create a safe space to ensure children participation in various activities.
- Refer children with protection concerns to Supervisor/social worker for additional support.
- Maintain positive relations with the center team, parents and stakeholders.
- Maintain regular contact with teachers, center supervisors, animators and area focal points.
- Identify cases in need of referral to specialized services.
- Ensure that the provided materials are properly used, kept and cleaned
- Reference check is a condition prior to appointment.
2- Tracking, reporting on activities
- Ensure the proper documentation of data collected (hard and soft copies) during PSS activities (attendance sheets, parental consent, referrals etc.)
- Develop a monthly operational progress.
3- Logistics responsibilities
- Support the logistics and procurement processes needed for the implementation of PSS sessions.
- Report the items needing repair or replacement.
4- Other duties as required
- Attend and participate in capacity building trainings.
- Attend and participate in organization events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
Qualifications
- Technical Degree Field of psychology or social studies.
- Experience in providing recreational activities to children (drama, play, games, circus, sport, storytelling, drawing/painting, artistic activities, music…)
- Knowledge of child protection and psycho-social support
- Knowledge of safe identification and referral
- Excellent communication skills with children of different age groups and adults (Parents, children, and staff);
- Strong interpersonal skills and a sense of responsibility.
- High integrity in social interactions.
- Preference to candidates with field experience inside the camp assigned to work in.
- Understanding of policies concerning Child Protection and child rights,
- Knowledge of the psychosocial guidelines and approaches related to emergency context (MHPSS IASC guidelines, PFA principles, etc.).
- Familiar with CP minimum standards, Community and Family Support as well as Children in Emergencies minimum standards.
- Well organized, self-motivated and ability to work in a team.
- One-year experience in a similar related job.
- Must be computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
