Training consultant

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) is a non-profit organization committed to the values of social democracy and is the oldest of Germany’s political foundations. FES has a network of eleven country offices in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and implements projects in a total of 14 countries. 

 

In Lebanon, FES has opened its office in the 1960’s, being the oldest of currently eleven offices in the MENA region. The aims of the activities of FES are to promote democracy and political participation, to support progress towards social justice and gender equality as well as to contribute to peaceful conflict transformation in the region. FES supports the building and strengthening of civil society and public institutions. FES cooperates with a wide range of partner institutions from civil society and the political sphere to establish platforms for democratic dialogue, organize conferences, hold workshops and training, and publish books and policy papers on current economic, social and political questions. 

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF TASK(S) AND OBJECTIVES TO BE ACHIEVED

In the framework of its programs, FES aims at promoting the devopment of efficient structures and internal procedures of political parties. 

Under the direct supervision of the program manager and in close coordination with the representative of the selected political party, the Training - Consultant will carry out in Lebanon the following tasks:

  • Develop a training programme and training package targeting the political party middle cadre on the following subjects:
    • how to campaign through social media, 
    • how to recruit young supporters, 
    • facilitation and moderation skills, 
    • and on how to listen to the ground;
  • Conduct training to the political party middle cadre between the 1stof September and the middle of November 2018;
  • Work with the political party to establish an internal and coherent mechanism for reporting and communication for the party;
  • Draft a report on the training and recommend future steps.

The expected number of training days is 10 days – 3 hours per day (not including preparation).

The applicant could be a company or an individual and can apply to cover all the mentioned areas of the trainings or part of it.
