Call for Applications – Communications Officer

Position Summary

The Communications Officer will play a key role in developing, drafting, and implementing effective communication materials and strategies that advance the organization’s mission and advocacy objectives. Working closely with the Advocacy Officer, the Communications Officer will ensure high-quality content creation in Arabic and English, build strong relationships with media outlets and personalities, and support the organization’s visibility through traditional and digital platforms. The officer will also contribute to advancing human rights by communicating and advocating for the rights of marginalized populations.

Key Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Political Science, Human Rights, or related field.
  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in communications, media relations, or advocacy support.
  • Excellent command of Arabic and English (spoken and written); French is an asset.
  • Exceptional research and writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, compelling, and tailored content for different audiences.
  • Knowledge of Human Rights principles and ability to communicate and advocate for the rights of marginalized populations.
  • Experience conducting small surveys or data collection.
  • Solid understanding of social media platforms, digital content creation, and online engagement strategies.
  • Experience producing or supporting podcasts and other multimedia content.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build networks with media and partners.
  • Commitment to defending/supporting marginalized populations.
  • Strong ethical standards and professionalism.
