Overview of FR and the Project Frontiers Rights (Ruwad Houkouk) (FR) is a non-profit and apolitical NGO that aims at enhancing the human rights of marginalized groups in Lebanon. Its main programs focus on forced migration and statelessness.   Although there is no official data on the scale of the problem, there are estimated to be tens of thousands of stateless persons in Lebanon. Main causes of statelessness are non-registration of individuals in the 1932 national census; the existence of gaps in the nationality law; and a complex civil registration system that requires access to the courts for the late registration of births.  Stateless persons face numerous difficulties in their daily lives, including: the inability to move freely without risk of arrest and detention; restrictions on accessing public services, such as healthcare and education; very limited access to civil and individual documentation; limited access to employment; and no property rights. There is however limited awareness among the public opinion, civil society and government actors on statelessness and its consequences. The project aims to improve the capacity of the officials of the relevant Lebanese institutions to provide easier access to birth registration and a mechanism for identification and documentation of stateless persons in Lebanon; to increase public awareness and engage a wider spectrum of actors that directly or indirectly could have an impact in finding durable solutions and a better protection system for stateless persons; and to improve access to legal remedies and community engagement of stateless persons. The project has three made of three main components: sensitisation and capacity building, media and public opinion engagement and legal aid.    Major Duties and Responsibilities                                  Daily press review on issues of statelessness, nationality, forced migration and human rights in general Periodic review of laws and regulations related to stateless and refugees Weekly press and developments review reports Develop and implement the association publicity plan and communications material Disseminating information to the public about the association and its programs and beneficiaries, including mainly:  Writing press releases as needed, Twitter updates, Facebook posts and other social media posts Writing stories of stateless persons Coordinating the production of animation movies and awareness audio tools Organize media contacts and mail lists and update them Ensuring efficient and timely communication with media and maintaining presence on media Identifying opportunities for media/ social media presence Coordinating coverage of the association activities with media when needed Organizing meetings and trainings with journalists Coordinating with the technicians working on the upgrading of the website of the association and keeping it updated Updating the social media outlets of the association Monitoring the social media of the association Documenting the association events and activities; and compiling any media/social media reports on such events and activities.    Qualifications   University degree in journalism, TV/Radio, or related field.
