Disability Project Officer (4 Positions)

1.   Main Objective:

Fundación Promoción Social (FPS) plans to conduct a nation-wide assessment of Syrian refugee and Lebanese persons with disability (PwD) access to and utilisation of health services. Towards this end, both quantitative (disability and health access and utilisation survey) and qualitative (in-depth focus group discussions and key informant interviews) data collection tools will be developed and utilised.

Each Disability Project Officer (DPO) will be trained by FPS technical staff on different types of disabilities and effective, empathetic communication techniques. S/he will then be trained on the appropriate use of the data collection tools, the mobile data collection platform, and good research practice. Following this initial period of training, each Disability Project Officer will organize interview schedules, arranged by region and participant availability. 3-4 days per week will be spent in the field and 1-2 days per week will be in the office writing interview summaries, submitting data, and organizing the interview schedules for the following weeks.

2.   Main Tasks:

Coordinate and collaborate effectively with other members of the FPS PwD team

Complete the necessary project trainings

Interact with each person with disability with empathy

Be familiar with the assessment tools and methodology used

Conduct all participant interviews in the established, standardized manner

Plan/organize weekly schedule in advance with the Health Coordinator and Logistics

Provide organized weekly reporting on activities and collected data

Actively participate in weekly internal team meetings

When required, participate in meetings with key actors

When required, participate in disability coordination meetings

Attend the weekly PwD team meeting

Other tasks as required by the Health Coordinator
