TOT Lifeguard & Swimming Trainer

Program Overview:
Funded by BMZ, RET Germany & GATE Lebanon are implementing a program to support farmers in Akkar in improving their agricultural practices to reduce costs and increase income. To achieve the program objectives, GATE Lebanon seeks to work with individual experts and consultants to provide field and in-door training sessions across various locations in the target region (Akkar).

Part 1

Lifeguard & Water Safety Training – Scope of Work
Theoretical and Practical Courses

a. Theoretical Part (Lectures):

• Introduction to Lifeguarding
• Water Safety & Drowning Prevention
• Rescue Equipment & Communication
• First Aid & CPR for Drowning Victims
• Spinal Injury Management in Water
• Lifeguard Surveillance & Scanning Techniques
• Legal and Ethical Responsibilities

b. Practical Part (Pool Training):

• Surveillance and Recognition Drills
• Water Rescue Techniques
• Victim Extraction & Safe Exits
• CPR and First Aid Simulations
• Spinal Injury Management in Water
• Endurance and Physical Preparedness
• Emergency Action Plan Drills

Additional Requirements:

• Indicate the manageable number of trainees per session in each part.
• Submit a detailed financial offer.

Trainer Eligibility:

1. Female trainers will be prioritized for female trainees.
2. Minimum Level 3 certification in training from FINA (Fédération Internationale de Natation).
3. At least 7 years of experience as a trainer.
4. Provide a list of your jobs from the past three years, including job locations, phone numbers, and employer names.
5. Include reference contact numbers.
6. Indicate the number of trainers and attach their CVs.
7. GATE Lebanon will be responsible for trainees’ logistics (transportation and meals) and for securing the training locations.

Part 2

Training of Trainers – Swimming Coach Training (Beginner Level)
Theoretical and Practical Courses

Theoretical Part (Lectures):

• Introduction to Swimming Coaching
• Fundamentals of Swimming Techniques
• Teaching Methods for Different Age Groups
• Skill Progression and Development
• Safety and Risk Management in Swimming Lessons
• Effective Communication and Feedback
• Lesson Planning and Structuring a Swim Class

Practical Part (In-Water Training):

• Demonstrating Proper Swimming Techniques

• Live Teaching Practice and Evaluation
