Training & E-Learning Specialist

The Global Health Institute (GHI) at the American University of Beirut is looking for a Training & E-learning specialist to join its team.

The Training & E-learning specialist will work closely with the NGOi team on a variety of tasks including but not restricted to:

Training:

  • Develop an action plan for synchronous trainings to specify the roles and deliverables based on a set timeline
  • Work with subject matter experts to define the learning objectives, develop the syllabus, and build the course plan and content
  • Coordinate with team members to develop the course promotional material, evaluation strategy, and financial tracking system
  • Manage the course registration process
  • Edit and design the course content including the slides, activities, and assessment forms
  • Coordinate the course delivery whether face-to-face or through Zoom and manage the activities and break-out rooms
  • Manage the post-course material including grades, certificates, and course evaluation
  • Evaluate the course quality and recommend improvement strategies to increase the course effectiveness, interactivity, and time-efficiency

E-Learning:

  • Work with subject-matter experts to define learning objectives, identify appropriate learning methodologies and delivery methods, and map out course content and activities
  • Develop and edit standards for instructional design and conceptualize the storyboard that will be translated into finished interactive content
  • Design and develop quality e-learning content including video, animation and other instructional technologies using ARTICULATE 360
  • Publish final eLearning modules in a learning management system (Moodle)
  • Evaluate effectiveness of the asynchronous courses, and recommend improvement strategies to increase retention, engagement, and student performance
  • Manage projects from design to implementation, including scope, timeline, and quality assurance for assigned activities
  • Effectively communicate project deliverables to SME, team members, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in education, instructional design, social sciences, or any other related fields
  • At least 2 years of experience in coordination and/or managing trainings
  • High proficiency in English and Arabic (French would be an asset)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent editing, proofreading, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with software applications (familiarity with Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, or other e-learning development software is of added value)
  • Have a good working knowledge of eLearning standards including SCORM, xAPI technologies and learning management systems including Moodle
  • A strong sense of cultural awareness and the ability to work in teams
  • Strong social and presentation skills
