For the period from March 1st, 2023 (or later) to December 31st, 2023, we are looking for a committed colleague for finance and administration in the project "FANTASMEEM/ Promotion of the design industry in Lebanon".
The Goethe-Institut is the Federal Republic of Germany’s worldwide cultural institute. We promote knowledge of the German language abroad and cultivate international cultural cooperation. The project FANTASMEEM supports the design industry in Lebanon. FANTASMEEM is part of the Global Project “Cultural and Creative Industries”, which is implemented by the GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut.
The main areas of responsibility:
- Financial and budget management as well as administration of two project-internal budget lines
- Preparation of the accounting documents in the project management software of the Goethe-Institut
- Interface with the regional booking center
- Preparation and implementation of financial audits
- Close cooperation with the project team and regular reports to the project management
- Close cooperation with the local and regional administration, as well as the project’s administration in the head quarters
- Filing documents
Requirements:
- Professional experience or relevant training/studies in the field of public finance management
- Experience in contract law and public procurement law
- Experience in the management of third-party funds
- Good IT skills (MS Office) and willingness to familiarize yourself with new programs
- Good command of German and English, knowledge of Arabic is a plus
- Good knowledge of the administrative processes of the Goethe-Institut would be an advantage
- Ability to work in a team, independence and reliability
- High level of social and intercultural competence
- Willingness to participate in further training
- The activity can also be carried out from outside Lebanon (remotely).

The project “Cultural and Creative Industries” is implemented by the GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut. It improves employment and income opportunities for creative professionals in six partner countries; Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Kenya, Senegal, and South Africa and operates mainly in the music, fashion, design and animation sectors. In addition to promoting the development of entrepreneurial, digital, creative and technical skills through training programmes, the project aims to strengthen the framework conditions and the ecosystem of the cultural and creative industries.
