As part of our partnership with Green Line Association, Bus Map Project is seeking a proactive student in sociology, urban studies, political science or related field who can confidently support an ongoing research project on the public transport sector in Lebanon, by 1) reading and writing literature reviews, 2) interviewing key stakeholders, and 3) independently exploring research avenues that require further work.

The candidate will work well in teams and be passionate about contributing to raising awareness about the existing bus and van network in Lebanon.

‘Bus Map Project’ is an initiative seeking to map, promote and improve public transport in Lebanon.

The project has three intersecting areas of work:

1. a mapping initiative aimed at visualizing existing bus and van routes in Lebanon to encourage people to choose non-automotive means of transport.

2. a collaborative network aimed at building a community of transit enthusiasts by engaging a wide range of social and cultural actors, to get them involved in the sector

3. a transit riders’ association, to serve as a legal entity to help promote the perspective of bus and van users, and help to connect us to transport workers’ syndicates, policymakers and other NGOs with an interest in sustainable development
