ECE Teacher Assistant - Qabelias

Main Responsibilities

Assist the ECE Teacher in delivering daily play-based learning activities aligned with the ECE curriculum.

Support the preparation of age-appropriate teaching materials and learning centers.

Provide individual or small-group support to children who need additional guidance.

Help create and maintain a safe, caring, and child-friendly classroom environment.

Supervise children during classroom activities, free play, meals, and outdoor times.

Observe children’s behavior, participation, and developmental progress and report findings to the teacher.

Assist in identifying children who may have developmental delays or behavioral concerns and support follow-up actions as guided by the teacher.

Support the implementation of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) when needed.

Maintain basic records such as attendance sheets, activity notes, or observations, as requested by the teacher.

Help integrate hygiene routines, life skills, and social-emotional learning into daily activities.

Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Support communication with families and communities when needed.

Assist in organizing celebrations, events, or enrichment activities that enhance children’s learning experiences.

Help with classroom organization, preparation of learning spaces, and distribution or cleaning of materials.

Qualifications

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field is an asset.

Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings.

Experience supporting vulnerable or marginalized children is an advantage.

Understanding of early childhood development and play-based, child-centered methodologies.

Strong interpersonal skills with patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.

Ability to use basic educational and administrative tools (e.g., simple record-keeping, MS Office is a plus).

Fluency in Arabic; English is an asset.

Willingness to work in flexible, community-based learning environments.

Availability to support after-school programs, family meetings, or school events when required.
