Key Responsibilities
- Participate in specialized GBV, PSS, and protection trainings as required.
- Conduct field-level needs assessments for targeted populations and report findings.
- Facilitate psychosocial support (PSS) sessions addressing emotional, psychological, and social well-being.
- Plan and deliver structured GBV awareness sessions, including prevention, risk mitigation, safe disclosure, and available response services.
- Ensure all GBV activities follow survivor-centered principles, confidentiality, and do-no-harm approaches.
- Facilitate positive parenting sessions to strengthen caregivers’ ability to provide safe and nurturing environments for children.
- Raise awareness on protection risks, self-help strategies, and available support and referral pathways.
- Organize and support community events that promote protection, well-being, and community resilience.
- Ensure all sessions are conducted in safe, appropriate, and accessible locations in line with minimum standards.
- Identify vulnerable or at-risk individuals and refer cases through established GBV and protection referral pathways in coordination with the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate activity records and attendance sheets.
- Immediately report any safeguarding, protection, or PSEA concerns.
- Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Fully comply with HAND policies including Child Protection, PSEA, GBV guiding principles, and Code of Conduct.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Social Sciences, or related field (preferred).
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in GBV, protection, PSS, or community facilitation.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating GBV awareness sessions is strongly preferred.
- Experience with NGOs is an asset.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong facilitation skills, particularly on sensitive topics such as GBV.
- Good understanding of survivor-centered approach and safe referrals.
- Excellent communication and community engagement skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Commitment to humanitarian and protection principles.
