Procurement Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supplier and Contractor Management:
    • Identify and select suitable suppliers and contractors to ensure alignment with the organization's procurement standards, focusing on sustainability, ethical purchasing, and cost efficiency.
    • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and regularly renegotiate terms to secure favorable pricing and service levels.
  2. Procurement Planning and Execution:
    • Collaborate with internal departments to assess procurement needs, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
    • Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational requirements.
    • Keep track of order status and monitor delivery timelines to ensure timely receipt of goods and services.
  3. Receiving and Distribution:
    • Receive and inspect deliveries to confirm compliance with order specifications.
    • Organize and distribute goods efficiently to the relevant departments.
  4. Market Monitoring and Product Evaluation:
    • Monitor product availability and market trends to identify potential procurement opportunities.
    • Recommend product updates and adjustments based on evolving organizational needs.
  5. Database Management:
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive supplier database, ensuring it is regularly updated with accurate information.
  6. Reporting:
    • Prepare and submit detailed reports on procurement activities, including cost analysis, supplier performance, and order status.
    • Provide regular updates to management on procurement performance and challenges.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • High level of integrity and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
    • Adaptability and problem-solving skills to adjust to changing circumstances.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and suppliers
