Project Manager for Education Project - Al-Qusayr - Syria

Key Responsibilities

A. Project Management & Implementation

• Lead the full project cycle using a Results-Based Management approach.
• Oversee implementation of all education activities according to workplans and timelines.
• Ensure activities meet quality standards and respond to community needs.
• Monitor risks and propose mitigation measures.

B. Coordination & Partnerships

• Coordinate with local education authorities, school administrations, and community actors.
• Maintain strong collaboration with implementing partners and stakeholders.
• Represent the organization in project-related meetings and coordination forums.
• Attend education and child protection sectors meetings.

C. Financial Management & Compliance

• Oversee budget implementation and expenditure tracking.
• Ensure procurement and financial processes comply with donor and organizational policies.
• Validate financial and narrative reports before submission.

D. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

• Track progress against indicators and targets.
• Ensure proper documentation of activities, outputs, and results.
• Prepare donor reports and contribute to learning and program improvement.

E. Team Management

• Supervise project staff and field teams.
• Support capacity building and performance management.
• Promote accountability, transparency, and teamwork.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development, Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing donor-funded education or humanitarian projects.
• Proven experience in field coordination and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong budgeting, reporting, and compliance skills.
• Experience working in Syria or similar contexts is an asset.
• Fluency in Arabic and good professional English writing skills.

Mandatory Requirements

• Ability to be permanently based in Al-Qusayr (Homs).
• Willingness to travel within the project areas when required.
• Ability to manage complex operational environments under pressure.
