Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the implementation of shelter activities, including weatherproofing, rehabilitation, fire safety measures, and site improvement works.
- Conduct field assessments, technical inspections, and post-intervention monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with technical standards, donor requirements, and protection principles.
- Coordinate with UNHCR, local authorities, contractors, and community representatives.
- Monitor contractors and verify quality and progress of works.
- Prepare reports, maintain project documentation, and contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Support emergency response interventions and preparedness activities.
- Provide technical guidance and support to field teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Urban Planning, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of four years of relevant experience in shelter, construction, rehabilitation, or humanitarian programming.
- Previous experience with UNHCR-funded shelter projects is highly desirable.
- Experience in assessments, contractor follow-up, quality assurance, and field supervision.
- Strong coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of AutoCAD, Kobo, or GIS tools is an asset.
- Fluency in Arabic and good command of English are required. Knowledge of French is an advantage.
