Animated Storytelling - A Training Program for Creatives in Lebanon

This program aims to provide participants with the space, mentorship, and technical know-how needed in order to create their own animated productions and increase their chances of securing jobs in the field.

The goal is to establish a local community of animation artists with the skills to create and produce animated films, videos, cartoons, and others.

On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in partnership with Happinest implement this project as part of the Global Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI).

Tasks and responsibilities:

1. Demonstrate content expertise and currency within their academic field.
2. Plan, develop, and implement the “Stop-Motion Animation” workshop withing the contract timeline.
3. Possess both the willingness and the ability to share expertise with participants in a manner that is engaging and effective.
4. Complete 10 days of instruction, mentorship, and guidance to participants.
5. Keep score of participant attendance and progress.
6. Submit reports as required by program coordinator.
7. Refer to program coordinator concerning all issues with participants, logistics, and scheduling.

Required qualifications, experience, and skills

• BA in any Fine and Applied Arts or related field. Masters is a plus.
• 8-10 years of demonstrated experience in the stop-motion animation field with a preferred experience in teaching.
• Demonstrated proficiency in relevant design software
• Ability to engage and keep participants interested
• Excellent organization skills
• Fluent in English and Arabic. French is a plus.
• Portfolio is a requirement
