About Hariri Foundation (HF):

Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development is a Lebanese non-governmental organization with special consultative status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). HF is dedicated to sustainable development across various sectors, including Education & Training, Public Health, Community Support, Urban Development, and Environment & Agriculture. The foundation operates in partnership with stakeholders to promote citizen engagement, social cohesion, and community resilience.

Project Overview:

Hariri Foundation is calling for a consultant for its project focused on Circular Economy (CE) and Sustainable Consumption & Production (SCP). The project aims to develop a local SCP/CE action plan for Saida, aligning with the city's Roadmap Towards an Environmentally Sustainable City. The project also features the development of training curricula and tools for mainstreaming concepts of circularity and sustainable practices among citizens and institutions. The project will be implemented in partnership with various international, national, and local stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

General:

- Represent Hariri Foundation with project-level third-party stakeholders where necessary.

- Coordinate work with the assigned project manager from Hariri Foundation.

- Liaise and coordinate with agreed stakeholders on matters related to the project.

Stage 1: Local SCP/CE Action Plan for Saida City:

- Identify priority sectors/actions through a multistakeholder process via a report assessment on priority sectors.

- Draft a local SCP/CE action plan in line with Saida's Roadmap for environmentally sustainable development.

- Contribute to a city-wide validation meeting on the subject matter.

Stage 2: SCP/CE Tools and Curricula:

- Develop customized SCP/CE tools. These resources will support local businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations in implementing sustainable practices that align with the city's objectives.

- Ensure the SCP/CE tools and curricula are inclusive and accessible to all members of the community, including people with disabilities.

Stage 3: SCP/CE Capacity Building and Awareness Raising:

- Develop and deliver capacity-building sessions on SCP/CE for target audiences.

- Contribute to the design of awareness-raising campaigns based on the priorities identified to ensure lasting behavioral change.

Qualifications:

- A professional in economics, environmental policy, environmental engineering, or related fields with qualifications to support the client in the project.

- Previous experience in Circular Economy and Sustainable Consumption & Production initiatives and programs.

- At least 15 years of experience in the field or closely related field.
