Hariri Foundation (HF) 

The Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development is a Lebanese non-governmental organization with special consultative status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). The Hariri Foundation is dedicated to sustainable development across various sectors, including Education & Digital Transformation, Socioeconomic Development, Active Citizenship, Sustainability & Climate Action, and Public Health & Wellbeing. HF operates in partnership with stakeholders to promote citizen engagement, social cohesion, and community resilience. 

Position Overview

This role is a dynamic blend of research (70%), administration (20%), and management (10%), designed to coordinate the research agenda on environmental topics within the Enmaeya Development Portal (EDP). The researcher will analyze cross-cutting themes and interlinkages with key sectors such as health, economy, and education. The core mandate is to track research priorities and apply mixed methods to generate evidence-based insights and recommendations, including grey literature, policy briefs, and analytical reports. 


Research Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the primary focal point for sector research, overseeing agenda-setting, topic prioritization, and mapping of key global events, research institutions, scholars, and practitioners. 
  • Collect and analyze primary and secondary data using diverse methodologies. 
  • Validate research outputs from various sources and contributors to ensure reliability and validity. 
  • Benchmark research quality based on established guidelines and criteria. 
  • Design and facilitate focus group discussions, stakeholder engagement activities, survey development, and training of data collection field officers. 
  • Apply and adapt a range of quantitative and qualitative social research methodologies and frameworks. 

     

Coordination Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the project manager to develop quarterly and annual operational plans with clear timelines. 
  • Engage with team officers in knowledge exchange sessions, briefings, and documentation efforts. 
  • Coordinate with web development, CMS, marketing, and social media teams to ensure research dissemination. 

     

Editing and Copywriting Responsibilities: 

  • Edit and refine articles, reports, and analyses to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with the organization’s tone and style. 
  • Assist in drafting summaries, abstracts, and key points for dissemination. 

Deliverables 

  • A comprehensive database and library of articles and reports. 
  • A structured framework for research inputs and outputs, including a research quality control and validation guidebook. 
  • Literature reviews on key environmental topics, along with ad hoc summaries of major findings and insights. 
  • Secondary editing and review of environmental research topics, with a focus on cross-sectoral analysis. 
  • Protocols for data collection methods, including qualitative and quantitative indicators for research agendas. 
  • Conceptualization of visual aids and content creation for diverse audiences and social platforms
