Haven for Artists is a locally based, apolitical NGO based in Beirut, Lebanon. The organization aims to endorse, encourage and expose the modern underground art scene of Lebanon and the Middle East. Today, Haven acts as a network for a variety of local and regional artists, with the purpose of providing necessary resources to forge creative collaborations and develop a community of artists: a community for the arts by the arts. Haven for Artists runs a multitude of programs and activities such as gatherings, exhibitions, events, the Haven House workshops, and an innovative artist-in-residency program.  Haven for Artists is hiring an Administrative Assistant to support the Administrative Manager/Lead Coordinator. This position is ideal for a university student or recent graduate who is keen to attain first hand experience of working within an NGO. The Administrative Assistant will support the manager in preparing documents (such as contracts and records), scheduling and managing volunteers, and data management. This is a part time position with flexible hours, to be discussed with the Head Coordinator.  The applicant must be well-organised, methodical, an excellent communicater, reliable, and have an interest in working within the development sector and with a passion for the arts. The internship will take place in the Haven House, a community space based in Mar Mikhael. This is a space which serves the local artistic and youth communities. It is a dynamic and vibrant atmoshphere, where you will be surrounded by people of a multitude of nationalities, orientations and backgrounds. It is vital for the applicant to have an openminded and non-judgemental attitude, excellent social skills and willingness to learn.
