Social protection Senior Social Worker

Responsibilities And Obligations:

  •  Ensure a proper reception and documentation of new cases through the 24/24 national hotline in rotation with the Social Protection SW.
  •  Conduct a comprehensive assessment evaluating the  protection risks and  the family basic needs and resources’ availability with a clear outcome to be submitted in the social file. 
  • Draft the action plan and update the objectives monthly according to needs met
  • Accompany families in economic hardship situations with empowerment on financial planning
  • Refer adult’s family members and/or   parents to livelihood opportunities
  • Revise the action plan on quarterly basis
  • Conduct home visits according to a set schedule to follow on the social and economic situation of the family & coordinate with the protection SW for the cases that are followed up as well by the child protection binome
  • Conduct interviews with family members according to a set schedule as per the objectives of the action plan
  • Oversee the social protection sw’ monthly planning
  • Provide technical support to the Social protection Sw when needed
  • Submit monthly reports to SCM
  • Knowledgeable with service mapping
  • Coordinate with the protection Binome on the basic needs provision to serve best the protection goals
  • Coordinate bimonthly with the SCM
  • Coordinate with admin officer on Procurement and delivery of basic needs
  • Submit to AM monthly trackers on service provision under the different projects
  • Attend all activities organized by himaya (staff care, Christmas, end of year gathering)

Educational Background And Needed Skills  

  • Master’s degree in Social Work
  • Preferably 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word)
  • Ability to work under pressure and hard situations
  • Ability to work in a multi-professional team while remaining within his or her area of ​​expertise
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiarity with child protection and implemented laws in Lebanon
  • Familiarity with in-kind support international guidelines
  • Ability to collect analyze and synthetize information in order to apply and support intervention methods and techniques
  • Ability to transmit written and / or oral information to the various professionals and hierarchical referents
  • Willingness to update their professional knowledge and skills
  • Fluent in Arabic and English with basic knowledge in French
  • Management skills

Conditions

  • Office work and field work
  • 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, from 9:00 am till 5:00 pm
  • Expected to have flexible / extended hours of work
  • Compliance with himaya’s code of ethics
