Capacity Building Manager

Tasks and responsibilities: ENSURING THE PARTNER’S CAPACITY ASSESSMENT You lead or participate to the 1st assessment of potential partners (background checking and first assessment of the organization’s capacities); You create a capacities’ assessment tool that will be used to conduct an in-depth capacities assessment of partners selected. This tool should notably includes: Check list of the capacities to be assessed for each sector (technical and organizational); Evaluation grid of these capacities; Scoring system. You lead the capacities’ assessment, ensuring that all the departments are covered; You adjust the capacities’ assessment tool.   ANALYZING THE CAPACITIES’ ASSESSMENT AND PROPOSING A CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM You extract information from the assessment conducted and product an assessment report on each partner; You establish a capacity building program taking into account: The potential of improvement in each sector; The priorities for HI and for the partner. You establish a planning for training and accompaniment sessions, taking into account the planning of the project’s implementation.   PROVISION OF TRAINING SESSIONS You regularly update your knowledge of the capacity building offer within the HI Syria mission (curricula and/or tools developed, Human Resources available, etc.); You lead the development of new curricula / tools concerning organizational capacities; You develop a network of expertise (within partners, private companies, etc...) to complement the HI Syria mission’s expertise; You ensure the provision of the training sessions by HI or external providers (partner, private company, etc.) if needed; In collaboration with the Support and Program departments, you organize the training sessions of Syrian staff, remotely or in neighbouring countries. You design and implement a pre and post-evaluation system to measure training results   FOLLOW-UP AND ACCOMPANIEMENT You support the team in developing follow-up and monitoring tools to accompany the staff trained; You ensure that this follow-up is implemented; You regularly re-assess the needs of the partner’s staff in order: To monitor the progresses; To propose a continuous and progressive capacity building program.

Education Degree Details
- Minimum 3 years in the humanitarian field with at least one significant experience in Capacity building projects;

- Experience in partnerships;
- Experience in providing trainings;
- Experience of emergency and post-emergency contexts.

Professional skills:
- Extensive knowledge of Capacity building mechanisms;
- Excellent analysis skills
- Good knowledge of Near East an asset
