Database Assistant - Regional Mission

Under the line management of the Database Officer, the Database Assistant will be responsible for: Objective 1:          Ensuring the quality of the data entry:   Activities/Main duties:   •              Enter the data collected by field teams in the database (assessment forms, follow up, distribution; discharge/monitoring information, etc.) •              Ensure the quality of the data entry in the different databases •              Reconcile data entries with hard copies, to ensure proper entry and cross checking; •              Ensure the consolidation of databases   Objective 2:          Ensuring data quality on iData databases:   Activities/Main duties:   •              Perform a systematic review of all data collected remotely using iData •              Report on inconsistencies and data errors •              Perform data cleaning and archiving   Objective 3:          Ensuring adaptions of the database according to the project’s needs, in close collaboration with the operational team:   Activities/Main duties:   •              Report any discrepancies between the database and the documents used by the teams on the field •              Propose improvements of the database and of the documents used by the team on the field and ensure the adaption of these documents as needed   Objective 4:          Ensuring confidentiality of the data management:   Activities/Main duties:   •              Respect the total confidentiality of the data collected and entered •              Ensure security of the database and files   Objective 5:          Demonstrating an ethic and professional practice:   Activities/Main duties:   •              Respect beneficiary’s confidentiality •              Respect and promote HI’s Policies and report to your line manager any non-respect of HI’s policies amongst the teams or partners. •              Address needs and requests in a professional way. •              Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others.   Objective 6:          Demonstrating willingness to improve professional competences and abilities to increase care quality:   Activities/Main duties:   •              Demonstrate motivation at work. •              Demonstrate willingness to improve own knowledge and skills by participating actively in any training sessions, capacity building activities… •              Participate in the different activities that are common to all team members •              Respect each team member’s positions, work, and specialty •              Adapt to special situations or demands from supervisor (reporting, etc)     Note that this job description must remain flexible, to respond to additional tasks or changes as identified by the line manager.

KNOWLEDGE
• Fresh graduate in Computer Sciences, IT or similar fields
• 1 to 2 years of experience
• Knowledge on social assistance, vulnerability and disability is an asset
• Microsoft Office 2007 and above
