Paramedic / Nurse‎

Handicap International is a humanitarian and nongovernmental organization working in over 60 ‎countries around the world providing health and disability programmes as well as being involved ‎in humanitarian demining.‎In Lebanon North, Handicap International is engaged on demining activities in the region of ‎Batroun, and based out of Toula School. The project requires deminers to work within our ‎demining team on operations in the field. The deminer works under the direct supervision of the ‎Team Leader and under the overall management of the Chief of demining operations.‎ Main Tasks o Maintain quality paramedical care regardless of the patient's race, religion, age, sex, ‎nationality, and disability, social or economic status.‎o Maintain patient safety at all the times.‎o Practice in accordance with the professional practice standards established by the ‎profession according to W.H.O.‎o Promote teamwork and ensure good communication between multidisciplinary teams ‎within the organization.‎o Carry out the instructions of his/her supervisors in a manner that is supportive and ‎constructiveo Responsible for the provision of advanced first aid when required.‎o Responsible for the provision of primary care when requiredo Responsible for Health & Safety as outlined in the Medical SOPo Responsible for the assigned medical equipment, its care and daily inspectionso Responsible for keeping the ambulance hygienically clean and all medical equipment ‎operational.‎o Responsible for the provision of a medical briefing before demining operations.‎o Administration of drugs on direct order and / or supervision of a physician.‎o Assist at any emergency scene as trained and qualifiedo Assist and support all HI operations, if it’s not interfering with own medical duties, such ‎as support to other HI staff and if needed, for civil casualties.‎ Health - Ideally applicants should be in good health and physically fit as they may be required to ‎work in physically demanding locations. ‎ Attention: This Position is available for NATIONAL candidates only.

Applicants should be qualified as a paramedic and hold suitable supporting documentation. He ‎‎/she should be qualified to administer pain relief drugs and apply drips. He / she should be ‎qualified in advance life and limb saving skills, triage and patient monitoring during ‎transportation to hospital.‎
