Project officer data collection and key informant interviewer - Handicap International

Handicap International is conducting the disability and education assessment.

In order to conduct the assessment in Bekaa, in partnerships with IMMAP which is responsible to manage data collectors and required data collection devices, HI requires a project officer at data collection sites to ensure HI visibility and facilitate coordination between IMMAP and HI.

Tasks

Under the management of the HOM, HI Lebanon Mission, the PO will be responsible for:

  • Provide disability related support to data collectors, via IMMAP field leader (e.g. reply to specific information respondents may ask which is not covered in HI leaflet, facilitate contacts and interaction with families with disability in case of needs, arrange sign language interpreter in case required)
  • Collect statistics and information on the situation of Syrian refugees in Lebanon (including education), systems and structures of national and humanitarian actors (including education), and access to services among Syrian refugees with disabilities (through online research and meetings with stakeholders)
  • Translate in written and interpret verbally from English to Arabic and vice versa during trainings, meetings and all activities requiring translation
  • Coordinate with the IMMAP field leader to ensure HI representation at the site (e.g. liaise with CSMC actors or any other humanitarian actors under the supervision of the HOM)
  • Conduct interviews with SPs, key informant and children and provide interviews report
  • Maintain and respect HI premises and assets  
  • Coordinate with the logistics department in case of any raised needs by the data collectors
  • Keep a close communication with HI project officers at the working area by ensuring info sharing and respect to the timeline of the program’s activities
  • Keeps a close follow up on HI security rules and report directly to the line manager in case of any urgent issue

Required:

  • Basic understanding of inclusion and disability
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in Arabic and English
  • Good organizational and multitasking skills
  • Knowledge and working experiences concerning Syrian crisis and disability, including children
  • Experience in facilitating FGD and key informant interview a plus
  • HI experience a plus
