GLOBAL OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
Under the supervision of the Operations Coordinator, his / her role is to guarantee the quality of HI Psychosocial activities in line with HI ERD emergency approach, and as part of the on going program:
To participate actively in the design and implementation of the Psychosocial Strategy
To provide technical support at all mission levels (from frontline workers to Head of Mission) to ensure quality implementation of the Psychosocial interventions.
To identify, train and support a National PSS Supervisor in order to upkeep the strategy of nationalisation of the technical support team
To provide close technical support to Psychosocial workers and Psychologist as well as dedicated technical support to the Project Managers and Officers.
Participate in regular reports on activities and documents to ensure the capitalization of the project.
Representation: Participation to technical working groups as per requested by the line manager
Ensure MHPSS technical coordination with other HI DAD teams in the country on MHPSS necessary coordination related to the implementation of activities, the techncial related representation as well as the MHPSS strategy in the country all this under guidance by your line manager
RESPONSIBILITIES
Based in Beirut, under the direct supervision of the Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible:
Objective 1: To participate actively in the design and implementation of the Psychosocial strategy of intervention.
Activities/Main duties:
Formalize the PSS strategy for the mission in accordance to HI’s DAH mandate, within the program mechanism.
Provide technical support in order to guarantee harmonized protocols and activities in the different areas of intervention of the program
Identifying potential opportunities for activities development/evolution
Contribute to the strategy writing with the line manager
Participate to needs assessment and appropriate response sizing
Participate to external technical coordination meeting (working Groups)
Objective 2: To provide technical support at all mission levels (from frontline workers to Head of Mission) to ensure quality implementation of the Psychosocial interventions.
Activities/Main duties:
Ensure all HI DAH staff understand the PSS strategy and are able to implement and promote it through proposing internal information or awareness sessions, training, tools, etc. depending on the needs at each level
Objective 3: To identify, train and support the capacity of a National Psychosocial Supervisor
Activities/Main duties:
Identify a National Psychosocial Supervisor
Train the National Psychosocial Supervisor on HI DAH PSS mandate and activities
Support the National Psychosocial Supervisor to become the primary technical advisor for the technical teams in the field through concerted and progressive delegation of tasks, as necessary:
Assist in development of problem solving skills and ability to implement strategic changes in order to improve PSS service delivery in an emergency setting.
Provide guidance for improving communication from field teams to operations management to improve PSS activities.
Assist in developing and adjusting strategies for PSS delivery services in various contexts.
Offer trainings, including on the job training, on PSS protocols, in particular PSS in Emergency settings
Supervise the work of the National PSS Supervisor.
Objective 4: Provide close technical support to Psychosocial workers and Psychologist as well as dedicated technical support to the Project Managers and Officers.
Activities/Main duties:
Coordination with operational teams for the implementation and implementation of training of staff on PSS technical aspects
In close collaboration with the National PSS Supervisor, guaranteeing PSS field intervention quality through on the job training, support and case discussion with HI Psychosocial workers and/or psychologists.
Advising FCs and PMs on PSS strategies
Designing and providing tools, information leaflets, assessment forms, trainings (in collaboration with the HQ Specific Needs Technical Advisor)
Advising and suggesting PSS related evolutions/initiatives in HI activities
Objective 5: Produce regular reports on activities and documents to ensure the capitalization of the project:
Activities/Main duties:
Provide regular activity reports to your line manager and to the HQ Specific Needs Technical Advisor and MHPSS focal point, as well as specific information or inputs upon request of line Manager (external reporting, workshops).
Participate to the monthly situation report (SITREP) by providing relevant data and qualitative information related to your position, & provide a technical report on a monthly basis to your line manager, HQ SN Technical Advisor / MHPSS focal point.
In close collaboration with the Project Managers and the national PSS Supervisor, formalize all training/workshop documents.
Participate in the analysis of Monitoring and Evaluation data.
Objective 6: Representation:
Activities/Main duties:
Upon request by your line manager and in collaboration with potential other HI teams in the country, represent Handicap International’s DAH on issues related to PSS in the projects areas with any relevant stakeholders, local, national and international partners; local and provincial authorities in order to facilitate the implementation of projects activities.
Ensure ad hoc additional representation with other stakeholders, such as, working groups meetings
Objective 7: Ensure MHPSS technical coordination with other HI DAD teams in the country on MHPSS necessary coordination related to the implementation of activities, the technical related representation as well as the MHPSS strategy in the country all this under guidance by your line manager

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Compulsory Master Psychology degree or equivalent Master degree with relevant experience
At least 4 years of professional experience working as a Psychologist
At least 2 years of professional experience as Technical support to PSS activities in humanitarian interventions
Experience in PSS during emergency, preferably with Handicap International.
Ability and willingness to train a counterpart on technical supervision
Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
Strong communication and reporting skills
Ability to work under high pressure and without constant supervision
English mandatory (oral and written), Arabic and / or French would be an asset
