                             RISK EDUCATION  OFFICER Handicap International Humanitarian Mine Action Programme North Lebanon Location: North Lebanon Province   Handicap International (HI) is an international solidarity organization headquartered in France (Lyon) taking specific actions in the field of disability, health and humanitarian demining in over 60 countries around the world. It is non-governmental, non-denominational, apolitical and non-profit organization. The Mine Action Program of Handicap International in Lebanon priority is improving the lives of people affected by mines and explosive remnants of war, and the creation of favorable conditions for socio-economic development. This by reducing the threat posed by landmines and explosive remnants of war in affected communities in northern Lebanon, according to the needs and priorities identified by the Lebanese Mine Action Center (LMAC).   Handicap International is seeking one  Mine risk education officer in charge to implement and monitor activities  in Batroun District, North Lebanon Province     Job Description   Under the supervision of the Head of Mission, the Mine risk education officer is responsible to: Ensure that all Risk Education activities are implemented to a high standard, in line with International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) and with donors requirements. Ensure all HI and LMAC procedures and rules are respected in the frame of the RE project. Participate actively in Risk Education Steering Committee meetings and all RE events organized by partners and/or donors.. Develop an action plan for Risk Education Activities in coordination with the Lebanon Mine Action Center and Risk Education Steering Committee. Develop and supervise the production of Risk Education Tools in coordination with the Lebanon Mine Action Center and Risk Education Steering Committee. Organise public awareness campaign in the District of Batroun in coordination with the Lebanon Mine Action Center and Risk Education Steering Committee.  Closely monitor the activities. Ensure RE activity reports are written for any RE activity in line with the LMAC and donors formats and requirements. Ensure regular pictures or videos are produced in the field to document the project. Candidates’ requirements Qualifications / Experience University studies in social, education or development areas; 2 years working experience in NGO. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Humanitarian values Diplomatic skills Able to work both independently and in a multicultural environment Capable of taking responsibility in the related field Computer skills (word-excel-outlook) Good written & spoken Arabic and English/French Valid Driving License   Languages Arabic, English, essential speaking and writing, French desirable but not essential.   Personal qualities Adaptation to specific working conditions, Capacity to work autonomously, Capacity to work in an multidisciplinary and multicultural team, Interest for humanitarian and field work, Desirable profile Experience in working with communities and project management Good organization skills Initiative Humanitarian values   General Work within the framework of HI core values Act as an ambassador for HI, through professionalism and conduct Adhere to all HI policies and procedures both Technical and Administrational Undertake and apply learning from appropriate training Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as may be required       Contract’s conditions contract for 9 months   based on HI salary scale, Package of advantages to be communicated, according to HI Specific Terms and Conditions of national staff.
