Shelter Supervisor

Under the direct supervision of the winter project officer , you will be responsible to ensure a qualitative implementation of emergency sealing off of shelter for Winterization project for the most vulnerable population affected by the Syrian crisis, and especially within the refugee’s communities threatened by winter conditions.     Your tasks will inlcude (amongst others):     Participate to      training of the construction teams -          In close collaboration with Winterization PM and project officer, participate to training on the insulation technical frame designed by HI for the services providers contracted -          Provide on the job training as per needed   Participate to      identification of unfinished shelters/houses and available shelters -          As per requested by project officer, and in link with outreach workers, participate in phases of identification of shelters threatened by winter conditions -          Collect information at field level about available shelters in the area and report directly to the project officer   Support      technical diagnostic of the needs - In link with project officer and collaboration with winter outreach workers, ensure technical diagnosis of the needs if requested - In close collaboration with service providers, run technical assessment about the needs and the appropriate intervention to be undertaken   Monitoring of      the quality of work of the construction teams -          Monitor the quality of work of the service providers, in accordance of insulation technical frame designed and appropriate use of materials -          Ensure intervention reports are properly filled by service providers on quality of work and quantity of materials used     Participate to the follow up of      sealing off achievement   -        At field level and under project officer supervision, ensure that weekly objectives are reached by service providers -        Report to project officer any issues in the implementation of emergency sealing off   Ensure minimal      standards safety of building identified   -          Assess that buildings are not dangerous -          Ensure that shelters do not have any unguarded holes/drops, nor are obviously prone to failure under snow/earthquake/wind loads. -          Report on any concern to project officer on safety of shelters     THE CANDIDATE’S REQUIREMENTS -Arabic, speaking and writing -English, speaking and writing -French langage is a plus -Be rigorous, calm and polite -Be a good and polite negotiator -Good networking capacities. -Knowledge in computers (Excel required, Microsoft Office) -The ability to integrate completely in the heart of a multi-disciplinary team. - Strong capacity of organization and planning   - 2 years of experience in construction (building or carpenting or isolation system...) - Association or NGO experience is an asset. interested canddiates may send their cv to  jobs.lebanon@hi-emergency.org  and mention WINT02
