  Vacancy Announcement Socio Economic Impact consultant Handicap International Humanitarian Mine Action Programme North Lebanon Location: North Lebanon province, Batroun District   Handicap International (HI) is an international solidarity organization headquartered in France (Lyon) taking specific actions in the field of disability, health and humanitarian demining in over 60 countries around the world. It is non-governmental, non-denominational, apolitical and non-profit organization. The Mine Action Programme of Handicap International in Lebanon priority is improving the lives of people affected by mines and explosive remnants of war, and the creation of favorable conditions for socio-economic development. This by reducing the threat posed by landmines and explosive remnants of war in affected communities in northern Lebanon, according to the needs and priorities identified by the Lebanon Mine Action Center (LMAC).   Description of the post   Handicap International is seeking one Consultant in charge of measuring the socio-economic impact of Handicap International clearance activities in Batroun District, North Lebanon. The Socio Economic Impact consultant duties and responsibilities within HI mine action programme in North Lebanon Province are: Responsibility: Under the supervision of the Head of Mission, and in close link with the Chief of Operations, the Socio Economic Impact Consultant is responsible for: Developing monthly action plans for collection and analysis of data, as well asreporting. Collecting data on all minefields cleared by Handicap International since January 2011 in the District of Batroun. Data includes pictures, direct information from landowners and community on the impact of clearance on their daily life, information on land use. Conducting a minimum of ten case studies (interviews) with beneficiaries of Handicap International activities. Filling HI forms for post-impact assessment and socio-economic impact assessment. Archive files in a suitable manner. Produce a final report compiling and analyzing the impact of Handicap International clearance activities in the District of Batroun.   Qualifications required:   University studies in social, education or development areas; Excellent Computer skills (word-excel-outlook) and ability to produce graphs, stats and maps. Excellent written & spoken Arabic and English/French Driving License + Vehicle mandatory (Transport allowance will be paid) Laptop  mandatory (the organization will not provide a computer) Available to work on week-ends as most consultancy days will be organized on Saturdays and Sundays. Flexibility is required. Excellent knowledge of Batroun District. Autonomous and Dynamic Excellent organization Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills Humanitarian values   Diplomatic skills Able to work both independently and in a multicultural environment Capable of taking responsibility in the related field   Language skills:   Arabic + English (Good written and spoken) French would also be an advantage   Starting Date:   1st of April 2014   Duration of Contract:   Ten (10) working days in April 2014 and 5 working days per month from April up to December 2014 (Might be rearranged according to the needs).
