humedica is working with one MMU (mobile medical unit) in 35 informal tented settlements in Central Bekaa, providing primary health care to Syrian refugees. TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES: Your main responsibilities will be: Medical consultation for common acute illnesses and dispensing acute medications. Provide diagnosis and counselling to each patient and determining follow up care needed Treatment of uncomplicated infectious diseases (watery diarrhoea, dysentery and STI etc.) Identify potentials of communicable disease outbreaks.  Medical consultation for chronic diseases, initial treatment if needed and referral to PHC centers for chronic medications, regular follow-up and lab investigations. Health promotion on health services available in the PHC centres and hospitals. Stabilization services of emergency health conditions and immediate referrals to nearest PHC centres or hospitals after stabilization. Participate actively in the monitoring and the reporting of medical activities (correctly fill in patient files, forms, statistics, reports) Awareness and knowledge of referral options and pathways CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Starting: 1st May 2014 Contract: Employee – Fixed term contract Full time, working hours: 8.30 – 5.30, one hour lunch break Post based in the humedica MMU in Zahle and Central Bekaa. With your team (GP, nurse, field officer), you will visit one to two different tented settlement each day. Minimum requirements: Qualified Medical Doctor Experience working with NGO is helpful, but not mandatory. High Motivation for challenging and complex task and good common sense Strong skills in communication, mediation and cooperation Ability to cope with difficult security context. To be able to work as part of a team and participate in all activities of the MMU To be able and willing to work in a multi-cultural environment. Flexibility, reliability Languages :  Fluent Arabic and good English language is mandatory.
