Field Coordinator (Agriculture)

Key Responsibilities

Field Coordination & Implementation

  • Coordinate and oversee implementation of all project activities at field level in assigned locations
  • Prepare and follow up on field activity plans, schedules, and site visits
  • Ensure timely and quality delivery of cash assistance, agricultural inputs, and equipment according to approved plans
  • Supervise field teams, facilitators, and service providers involved in project activities
  • Ensure compliance with ISF procedures, donor requirements, and humanitarian principles
  • Coordinate and communicate with the Project Manager and the Agricultural Engineer

Beneficiary & Community Engagement

  • Support identification, verification, and follow-up of beneficiary farmers in coordination with MoA and the project team
  • Maintain regular communication with farmers, cooperatives, and local authorities
  • Facilitate community meetings, field visits, and awareness sessions on agricultural practices and project interventions
  • Ensure inclusive participation with attention to vulnerable groups and gender considerations

Technical Follow-up & Quality Control

  • Technical follow-up, including maintenance observation
  • Oversee procurement processes of agricultural assets
  • Coordinate with suppliers, technical experts, and trainers to ensure proper installation and use of solar panels, greenhouses, and irrigation systems
  • Monitor functionality and proper utilization of distributed assets
  • Follow up on agricultural training sessions and provide logistical and organizational support
  • Identify implementation challenges and propose practical field-based solutions

Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation

  • Collect and submit regular field reports, activity updates, and progress summaries to the Project Manager
  • Support the MEAL team in data collection, beneficiary feedback, and monitoring visits
  • Ensure accurate documentation of activities, distributions, attendance sheets, and field observations
  • Contribute to lessons learned, success stories, and best practices documentation

Coordination & Representation

  • Coordinate closely with internal ISF departments (MEAL, Finance, Procurement, Logistics)
  • Liaise with local partners, suppliers, municipalities, and relevant stakeholders
  • Represent ISF at field-level meetings and coordination activities related to the project

The Field Coordinator may also assist with additional tasks or take on other responsibilities based on project and organizational needs.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Studies, Rural Development, Social and Development Studies, or related field (Master's degree is a plus)
- Relevant technical training and experience is an asset for candidates with other degrees
Experience:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in project management, preferably in agriculture, food security, or livelihoods projects
- Prior experience in the agro-industry sector is an advantage
- Familiar with the regulations and compliance requirements of UN agencies & international donors
