- Background Information:
The Community Organization for Development and Empowerment-TCODE-INITIATE is a Nongovernmental, nonprofit, youth-oriented organization based in Lebanon and dedicated to assisting vulnerable communities through youth inclusion and empowerment. While keeping youth at its focus of its mission, TCODE-INITIATE continually endeavors in creating comprehensive and inclusive programs aimed towards the empowerment of youth, and its concentric circles of influence.
In the process of delivering its Mission TCODE-INITIATE aspires to keeping its status as a hub for youth allowing them to: access a safe space, and acquire knowledge and access to a network of social and political influencers enhancing their social participation in decision making processes.
- Purpose of the Contract:
The Social Worker will be responsible for delivering targeted psychosocial interventions to displaced women and their families, ensuring access to safe, confidential, and structured support services. The role will also involve working closely with the women’s committee to provide training in leadership, psychological first aid (PFA), and mediation.
Tasks:
A. Psychosocial Support (PSS) Services
- Conduct PSS sessions for internally displaced women and girls, following best practices and culturally appropriate approaches.
- Use group-based and individual approaches to address mental health and psychosocial well-being.
- Facilitate discussions on topics such as stress management, coping mechanisms, trauma-informed care, self-care, and resilience-building.
- Ensure a safe, confidential, and supportive environment for all participants.
B. Case Management & Referrals
- Identify cases requiring specialized mental health services and facilitate referrals to appropriate service providers.
- Coordinate with protection and mental health actors to ensure a referral pathway for survivors of GBV, domestic violence, or other protection risks.
- Document and track referrals, ensuring follow-up and monitoring of cases as needed.
C. Community Mobilization & Women’s Committee Support
- Establish and train a women’s committee (10 women) within collective shelters to enhance leadership, decision-making, and community engagement.
- Train committee members in Psychological First Aid (PFA), mediation, positive communication, and conflict resolution.
- Support the women’s committee in conducting needs assessments, collecting data, and designing community-led initiatives.
- Work alongside the cash-for-work (CfW) participants involved in the committee’s activities.
D. Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of PSS sessions, attendance, challenges, and impact.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports on activities, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework, collecting qualitative and quantitative data.
