Street Children Animator / Social Worker

Literacy and life skills classes; 1. Prepares, plans, organizes and conducts literacy and life skills classes for the street children at the Insan Center. (classes will be held in the afternoons, twice a week in the first month, then daily (5 days a week) from the second month onwards. 2. Organizes some recreational activities during thebreaks from the classes. 3. Maintain the attendance register during all classes. 4. Ensures children under her/his responsibility are not exposed to any form of harm or stress during the classes. Follows security rules. In case of high and imminent danger, informs immediately the Insan Administration (Logistician, protection coordinator, Director). 5. Facilitates and encourages the participation of all children, notably the most vulnerable ones, ensuring proper attention is paid to their specific emotional and physical needs / difficulties. 6. Implements rules and discipline in a positive andconstructive manner that ensures that the emotional and physical well-being of the children, as well as their fundamental rights are always respected. 7. Establishes close links with parents of the children and other community members. Provides them information related to their children or the centre based activities when requested. 8. Participates, assist and/or conducts training as required by the protection coordinator. 9. Assists the Social workers and Psychologists as required. Production of a booklet about the lives of street children. 10. Animates the activities that will lead to the production of the booklet. 11. Collects the stories from the children, either orally or in the form of drawings. 12. Ensures the participation of at least 20 children in the booklet production. Visiting the families of the street children. 13. Conducts regular social visits to the families of the street children in their communities and establish links with them. 14. Gains the trust of the families through the visits. Case Management: 15. Contributes to the identification of project targeted children and encourages them to take part in the classes and activities. 16. Accomplishes other assignments given by supervisors. 17. Attends case management meetings whenever required.
