Advocacy Training Consultant (Short Term)

IWPR is seeking an Advocacy Trainer for one of its projects under the current Program. This consultant may travel to Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan to conduct advocacy trainings. In line with the vision for this project, IWPR is aiming at enhancing the skills and capacity of civil society activists and journalists through training, mentoring, providing media platforms and other institutional and production support. The advocacy trainer will develop and conduct advocacy trainings for IWPR’s beneficiaries. The advocacy trainer will also provide tailored technical assistance to support beneficiaries in developing and carrying out their advocacy campaigns both on the ground and online. Main Duties & Responsibilities: Develop a detailed training plan for a training on the training topic; Prepare thorough training modules on the training topic, covering core sessions on effective advocacy and leadership, together with supportive materials (power point, handouts, toolkits, case-studies, posters etc.) that will be used during the training activity; Conduct the training sessions to engage with activists working in the MENA context in a constructive dialogue and using interactive tools to achieve the training objective; Mentor and support participants during the training session as well as provide support and guidance in the designing and implementation of advocacy campaigns that will be developed following the training; Prepare and deliver a training report one week after the completion of training activity highlighting the training delivery process, results achieved, participants’ satisfaction with the trainer and training methodology, main conclusions and recommendations for future activities, etc.; Determine the most effective delivery methods and applicable training instruments for the participant group to achieve the training objective and measurable outcomes, including appropriate adult learning techniques (interactive approach, short lectures, group work discussions, case studies, etc.).

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, media communications, public administration, law or sociology is desired;
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is a must;
Extensive experience in working on advocacy in the MENA context (at least 3 years) preferred;
At least 5 years’ experience in providing advocacy trainings (preferred).
