The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), an international organisation with its headquarters in Vienna, Austria, is looking for qualified candidates to fill the above-mentioned position.
The project “Netherlands support to the project Enhanced Capability for Integrated Border Management in Lebanon (IBM Lebanon Phase 3)” aims to support the strengthening of Lebanon’s security institutions’ resilience to withstand internal and external pressures and shocks, and to reinforce the role they can play as drivers of stability and national cohesion.
IBM Lebanon was initially only financed by the European Union (EU), yet as of February 2015, and in coordination between ICMPD and the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Lebanon, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has contributed additional support to IBM Lebanon.
The Netherlands’ support to IBM Lebanon builds on the positive progress of the EU-funded project. ICMPD sought to align Dutch assistance with ongoing IBM Lebanon project activities based on the IBM Strategy for Lebanon, and anchored in the principles of: maximizing joint-activities, delivering high-quality assistance and focusing on EU added value.
The position is based in ICMPD’s Beirut office but may require occasional travel to other locations within Lebanon and abroad.
In close coordination with the Key Expert, the incumbent reports to the Long Term Expert (and to the Project Coordinator for human resource related matters), and is under the overall supervision of the Project Manager, IBM Lebanon. Duties and Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Long Term Expert (LTE), the incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks:
Translates project related documents
Interprets during project related activities
Under the guidance of the Long Term Expert, drafts letters and documents of relevance to the project
Supports the Long Term Expert (LTE) with the daily operation of the project including travel preparation etc.

Abides by the ICMPD code of conduct and represents the organization in the best possible way to national and international partner organizations
Performs other tasks as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in languages, social science, law, international relations, or any other field of relevance to the advertised position and to the project.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years work experience in a similar capacity, preferably in an international organisation of NGO
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
Demonstrated ability in administrative issues including computer skills, research etc.
Excellent oral and written command of English and Arabic including the ability to draft letters and project documents
Excellent communication skills, adaptability and flexibility.
Good organisational skills including managing conflicting priorities and working with tight deadlines.
Ability to work effectively with colleagues from different cultural and professional backgrounds.
Good analytical and interpersonal skills.
