Anaesthesia Assistant

Minimum required knowledge & experience:  Professional Diploma in Nursing: B.S, LT, TS 2 -3 years work experience as Anaesthesia Assistant Good knowledge of spoken and written English Good computer skills        Standard function description: Supports anaesthesia doctors by the preparation and set up of appropriate equipment and supplies for each surgical case in the OR Supports anaesthesia doctors during invasive monitoring and vascular access procedures Supports anaesthesia doctors in the operating room environment Maintains necessary skills and competencies to support department Checks daily on anesthesia equipment in order to assure its adequate functioning system at the end of each operation and signs specific checklist Assures availability of drugs and Anesthesia materials in the OR and when needed Prepares Anesthesia drugs needed to start the operation after checking their shelf life and reports any noncompliance to the Anesthesia doctor Assists with receiving and transporting patient to the recovery room Consults operating rooms to determine supply & equipment needed for the procedures Calibrates monitoring devices: anesthesia machines, monitors Assists with patients’ laboratory tests & results Ensures the availability of blood units in case needed Applies Universal Precaution Techniques Applies by ICRC policies and procedures
