to assist the ICRC Regional Cooperation Coordinator to achieve the objectives of ICRC Delegations in the Middle East and North Africa regions, to improve relations and coordination between the components of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement with special focus on the response to the Syria conflict and its regional consequences, and to assist in the organization of high level and other meetings of the RCRC Movement in Lebanon and if required in the wider region, including teleconferences, development of agendas, development and finalization of minutes of meetings and their distribution.
The position is an integral part of the Cooperation Department in the ICRC Lebanon Delegation and requires the following :
Function Description :
§ Ability to be able to work within the seven fundamental principles of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement
§ Excellent communicator with strong networking skills
§ Proven interpersonal skills, including ability to see an issue from an interlocutor's point of view
§ Excellent analytical and reporting skills (oral and written)
§ Ability to work as part of a team or independently as required
§ Preparedness to advocate and negotiate both internally and externally to achieve objectives
§ Presents the ICRC principles, mandate and activities to interlocutors
§ Contributes to the formulation of strategies to address identified issues
§ Contributes to written reporting
§ Assists the hierarchy in running support or operational activities for specific and complex sectors.
§ Develops and maintains contacts with authorities or other external interlocutors at various levels independently
§ In charge of institutional Written reporting
§ Assumes responsibility for important or complex files, projects, programs.
§ Participates in budget elaboration and monitors its implementation.
Minimum required knowledge & experience:
§ Minimum four years working experience with a humanitarian organisation
§ Working experience with ICRC, Federation or a National Society in the field of cooperation with the Red Cross Red Crescent movement is a significant asset;
§ Solid experience in capacity building and/or organisational development is an asset.
§ Advanced University degree or equivalent
§ Solid understanding of the social, cultural and political environment in the Middle East and North Africa regions.
