Minimum required knowledge & experience:
2 - 3 years work experience in similar function
Good knowledge of spoken and written English
Good computer skills
Standard function description / Main Responsibilities :
The clinical psychologist identifies patients in need for psychosocial support and
Helps defines activity plans to assist patients and caregivers in achieving effective personal, social educational development and adjustment.
Conducts Psychosocial Assessment upon admission of new patients and determine if further intervention is needed
Provides psychosocial care through brief supportive psychotherapy for selected cases, ensuring availability of social support to plan discharge home
Observes and evaluates patients and makes suggestions for improvement
Ensures patient security is maintained at all times of counseling
Refers patients to Psychiatric help when recommended by the managing surgeon
Attends Multidisciplinary meetings, coordinates activities with members of the team in the interest of good patient care and smooth operations
Participates in trainings, and supervision sessions as required
Keeps written records of individual patient assessment and care with a brief final summary, and of group activities if applicable.
Keeps statistics on all activities, as required and provides reports monthly
Abides by the ICRC policies and procedures
