Digital Officer

PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION

We are looking for a creative, out-of-the-box thinker to develop and manage the ICRC’s digital identity for Lebanon. This person will work with an ace communication team to develop the digital editorial line and manage the digital channels from content production to digital engagement. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, be audience-oriented in their thinking and have a creative bent for pitching innovative stories

YOUR PROFILE

5 to 7 years of experience in a field of communication

Strong social media and digital strategy skills

Excellent public speaking skills and ability to communicate on technical matters to audiences in training settings

Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Arabic

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

University diploma

Good audio-visual production skills

Good content visualization and storytelling skills

Good project management skills

Graphic design skills an asset

Good relationships with agencies and production houses an asset

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Content Planning & Production

Develops and implements the ICRC’s digital communication strategy for Lebanon to raise awareness on humanitarian issues of concern.

Leads the content planning and scheduling for the ICRC’s digital platforms.

Scouts for stories from the field and translates them into innovative content (videos, photos, text) for ICRC digital channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)

Works hand in hand with the public communication officer to generate digital content to be pitched to key media.

Leads on the project management for the digital component of campaigns.

Develops content to be shared on external digital platforms.

Social Media Management

Contributes and develops the social media mapping of the delegation, with a view to increase the delegation’s understanding of the social media landscape in Lebanon and in the region; provides regular and ad hoc reports/analyses

Manages the ICRC’s digital platforms: Facebook, country web page, Instagram and Twitter.

Ensures proper and continuous interaction with social media users in collaboration with the field communication officer

Networking and Pitching

Identifies and networks with digital influencers to expand ICRC audience reach

Organizes events/training/networking initiatives to build and consolidate ICRC´s relation with digital media influencers

Constantly analyzes and stays on top of latest trends on digital media and storytelling and translates them into the digital identity of the ICRC in Lebanon

Monitoring and Evaluation

Conducts ongoing evaluation of the success of digital content initiatives after publication and prepares regular reports and statistics on social media activities and their impact (achievements)

Supports environment scanning / media monitoring as needed
