Field Officer

FUNCTION DESCRIPTION The ICRC is undertaking a comprehensive project to collect personal data of Missing persons.　 The field officers' tasks include:　 · As part of the Protection Department, participates to the delegation objectives and strategies on all aspects of the different files related to Missing persons as a consequence of the different conflicts which took place in Lebanon since 1975.　 · Contributes to the general knowledge of the Delegation about the Missing file and humanitarian consequences and needs of their families.　 · Conducts interviews with families of missing persons independently as part of the Ante Disappearance Data collection. Produces the accurate reporting of the interviews and ensures collection of all documents available for each missing person for the purpose of collecting, archiving and protecting Data, as per ICRC guidelines, principles and as requested. 　 · Ensures accurate recording and archiving of all files and documents and contributed to the data analysis following the interviews.　 · Collects Biological Reference Samples from selected donors of missing persons as per set guidelines.　 · Upon request, translates from Arabic into English and v.v., orally during meetings or in written.　 · Can be requested for other tasks that contribute to the overall implementation of Ante Disappearance Data Collection.　 · Participates to other activities related to the Missing          Minimum required knowledge & experience: High school or professional diploma 3 - 5 years work experience in a similar field Good knowledge of written and spoken English Good level of written Arabic Good computer skills Good knowledge of geographically assigned environment Good analytical skills and attention to details  Standard function description: Assists the Delegate in charge of the Missing file in running field activities for specific sectors Maintains contacts with authorities at municipal degree, local Red Cross Branches, population, suppliers, etc. under supervision Presents the ICRC principles, mandate and activities to interlocutors and beneficiaries Plans and organises field trips Collects Ante Disappearance Data and Biological Reference Samples from Families of Missing and contributes to other activities related to the Missing unit.   Start of work: asap　 Working base: Beirut, with field trips all over Lebanon.　 Deadline to apply: July 14 th 2016
