Minimum required knowledge & experience:
· Certified and registered General Practitioner
· Knowledge in chronic health, infection control, and rehabilitation
· 5 years working experience
· Fluent in English and Arabic (spoken and written)
· Good communication and negotiation skills
· Good leadership skills
Standard function description:
· Works in collaboration with the ICRC anaesthetist and surgical team in delivering high standard care for the patients
· Reports to the Senior Surgeon and/or Hospital Project Manager in his/her absence
· Follows ICRC clinical protocols, guidelines and is acquainted with relevant evidence based practices
· Responsible for the documentation related to the clinical management of the WTTC patients
· Liaison within the multidisciplinary team and external consultant
· Participates in the screening process
· Participates in the MST emergency plan if required by the senior surgeon
SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES
· Works as a full time resident doctor from Monday to Friday (including on call shifts)
· Participates in the daily ward rounds at the surgical ward and post-operative center
· Follows the ICRC principles, protocols, and guidelines for the management of the patients under the supervision of the ICRC senior surgeon.
· Ensures the medical management of all patients, including the daily assessment, the treatment of co-morbidities, resuscitation in case of emergencies in collaboration with the ICRC surgical team
· Ensures the precise and clear documentation in the patients file (admission, pre-operative assessment, postoperative follow-up and discharge card)
· Supervises of the activities undertaken by the Hospital liaison officer
· Collaborates and liaises with outsourced consultants when needed and when greenlighted by the senior surgeon and ensures the adherence to the treatment plans proposed
· Filters and reviews all prescriptions to ensure its accordance to the ICRC and/or MoPH standard lists
· Follows the patient’s infectious and isolation status in close collaboration with the infection disease consultant and the ICRC infection control officer
· Participates in the screening activities for the medical evaluation and documentation
· Participates in the triage and management of patients in the event of mass casualties if required by the senior surgeon
· Participates in teaching and training programmes (lectures / practical exercises) for ICRC hospital staff if required
· Follows the ICRC pain management protocol under the supervision of the ICRC anaesthetist
Administration/management
· Reports medical activities to the hospital manager when requested
· Participates in institutional reporting, data collection, and meetings as required by the SenS
· Acts as a reference person for the Hospital Administrator for issues related to the billing of medical services provided by the Al Chifae Hospital (ACH) & Al Zahraa Post-Operative Centre (AZPOC)
