Job Summary:
The housekeeper ensures that ICRC premises are clean.
The housekeeper performs routine cleaning tasks to maintain a neat and tidy premises environment.
Objectives and Tasks:
Accountabilities and responsibilities:
Office cleaning:
- Performing routine cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors.
- Cleaning office furniture (front and back – upper and bottom).
- Ensuring proper cleaning of restrooms, restocking suppliers as needed (tissues, toilet papers, etc.).
- Ensuring proper cleaning for the coffee break area, restocking supplies as needed (tea, coffee, sugar, etc.)
- Cleaning the windows once per month (or when instructed and after heavy rain if necessary).
- Cleaning all offices blinds at least once per month.
- Organizing and cleaning common areas (canteen, meeting rooms, reception areas)
- Ensuring all rooms are well-stocked with essential supplies (coffee, tea, tissues, etc.)
- Managing paper and water stock at attributed floors, replace gallon in dispenser, and report any shortage for immediate refill.
Residence cleaning:
- Performing routine cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors.
- Cleaning residence furniture (dining table, living room, appliances, rails, beds, kitchen cabinets)
- Ensuring proper cleaning of restrooms, restocking suppliers as needed (tissues, toilet papers, etc.).
- Ensuring proper provision of cleaning products and reporting when in shortage
- Cleaning the windows once per month (or when instructed and after heavy rain if necessary).
- Cleaning of curtains once every 06 months.
Common cleaning duties:
- Maintaining a clean and organized living space for our end users
- Performing routine cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors
- Supporting the residences supervisor with washing and ironing bedsheets, towels for arrivals preparation.
- Supporting the delegation supervisor with preparing coffee breaks for the meeting on site premises.
- Checking water stock per site and replace gallons when needed and where applicable.
- Inspecting, counting and reporting shortages or damage of standard items
Waste management:
- Collecting waste from residences, individual offices spaces, common areas and restrooms.
- Transporting and disposing waste in their designated areas (general waste or recycling).
- Collecting recycling waste from recycling bins, transporting them to basement 3.
Communication and reporting:
- Reporting to premises team members all observed maintenance problems (leakage, burned bulbs, broken handles, etc.)
- Communicating effectively with office staff ensuring respect of privacy.
- Reporting any waste management concerns or achievements.
- Using appropriately all equipment and cleaning products
General support:
- Cleaning ICRC furniture using the designated vacuum machine.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Understands and adheres to the seven Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
- Understands and adheres to the ICRC Code of Conduct.
- Understands the roles of the components of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
- Respects and observes staff regulations and security rules at all times.
- Represents the ICRC in a professional manner at all times.
- Develops and maintains a pleasant and conducive working environment with colleagues and line managers.
- Performs all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the ICRC.
- May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Years of experience required: 2 to 3 years of experience in housekeeping and cleaning services. Experience as a housekeeper or cleaner, preferable.
Level of education: Primary School Level.
Field of education: -
Languages: Arabic (Native) English (limited working).
Certificate: Cleaning or Housekeeping.
Required Competencies
- Good physical condition for lifting heavy weights, ready to effortlessly handle workloads at the delegation floors or residences.
- Organized, proactive and accurate.
- Attentive to details
- Consistent and independent in performing cleaning tasks.
- Efficient in completing attributed duties within specified time.
- Capable to communicate with staff and team members.
- Capable of maintaining a positive behaviour when receiving feedback
- Ability to work with other cleaning staff.
- Ability to exhibit discretion and maintain confidentiality and respect of privacy.
- Has the minimum understanding for using cleaning products and cleaning tools.
- Capable of maintaining and cleaning equipment’s (vacuum machine)
- Ability to handle jobs that required physical efforts including lifting, moving and distributing heavy goods.
Job Details:
Job Location: Beirut.
Working Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm.
Contract Type: Fixed Term, 1 Year (renewable based on performance and need for position)
Salary Package: USD 853 – 1’421 (As per ICRC salary scale, salary setting processes will determine fair setting in coherence with the qualifications of the applicant and the requirements of the job).
