The ICRC Health Unit in Lebanon currently run Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) programmes in Beirut, Beqaa and the North. These programmes aim to provide tailored psychological and psychosocial care to people with MHPSS needs in health facilities and at community level.
In collaboration with, and under the direct supervision of the MHPSS Delegate, the Field Officer contributes technically to the implementation of MHPSS activities in line with the ICRC MHPSS framework. The position will be based in Beirut with travel to field locations.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology.
License to practice Clinical Psychology from the Ministry of Public Health
At least 2 years clinical experience
Ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team
Good communication & diplomacy skills - Problem solving, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
Knowledge and and experience in public health.
Experience leading training and education sessions.
Previous experience in MHPSS programmes.
Knowledge and experience in community-based mental health.
Statistical analysis skills (Excel, SPSS; STATA)
Fluent English required.
Responsibilities:
Alongside the MHPSS Delegate, represents the ICRC as part of a consortium Community Mental Health Centre (CMHC) programme.
Closely collaborates with consortium partners and attends technical and operational committee meetings.
Assists in developing a CMHC project document and ICRC project document.
Prepares, organises and conducts a needs assessment on PHC mental health integration in RHUH catchment area with the aim to create a stepped care system between the PHC network and the CMHC within local resources and in line with National standards.
Assists in supporting the development of Standard Operating Procedures of the CMHC.
Provides clinical and/or programmatic support to other MHPSS programmes in various locations in Lebanon (e.g. developing training tools, supporting training delivery, conducting needs assessments, developing communication materials).
Assists to develop, enhance, monitor and maintain culturally and context-appropriate data collection, monitoring and reporting tools/procedures.
Develops and maintains contacts with health authorities, academia, technical advisers from other organizations, etc.
Contribute to define ICRC MHPSS strategy and programmatic planning.
Manages MHPSS database and contributes to timely reporting.
