Nurse ''Rafic Hariri University Hospital'' Beirut

PURPOSE

The Nurse, as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team, promotes and ensures the delivery of high-quality holistic care to allocated patients in the Rafic Hariri University Hospital (RHUH) partnership project, aiming at reaching national/international standards.

S/he ensures close monitoring and timely reporting of changes in patients’ condition.

S/he participates as a member of the patient-care team in planning and implementing quality care and infection control.

S/he will be assigned as Liaison officer assistant, based in the reception area ensuring smooth and efficient support to patients and their relatives in need of ICRC assistance

S/he ensures a Continuum of Healthcare for eligible patients including monitoring of the referrals

Certifications / Education required  

Bachelor’s degree/diploma in nursing

Registered nurse with a valid license to practice in Lebanon

3 to 5 years overall work experience in a hospital, include 1 to 3 years’ practice preferably in a general, orthopedic, trauma and/or pediatric ward

Fluency in English

Professional Experience required

Previous international humanitarian and/or development experience will be an asset

Experience within the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement will be an asset

Very good communication skills

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides high-quality care to admitted patients, following the ICRC's/RHUH’s nursing guidelines and in cooperation with other members of the health team in a professional manner

Shows awareness of patients' changing needs and adapts the planned care accordingly in cooperation with the patient-care team.

Ensures appropriate communication with and a caring approach towards patients and those accompanying them.

Promotes a clean and safe patient environment and ensures that hygiene conditions are regularly measured and maintained in line with ICRC standards.

Ensures the timely completion and filing of all patient/hospital-related documents.

Participates effectively in any emergency-preparedness or response measures undertaken by the team or hospital.

Ensures clinical management of auxiliary staff under his/her responsibility.

Cooperates with and provides any relevant support to both internal and external counterparts.

Makes sure that available resources are used rationally and duly report items consumption within relevant stock mangement tool; ensures that equipment is properly used and maintained.

Represents ICRC in the reception area ensuring smooth and efficient support to patients and their relatives in need of ICRC assistance

Participates to a safe and conducive working environment in the Reception area and the OPD’s, focusing on non-violent communication, even under challenging conditions

Contributes to patient centred administrative activities in the Reception area of ICRC in RHUH

Liaises with local stakeholders to facilitate communication on and coordination of activities in direct support for patients

Collects accurate data through the timely completion and filing of predefined patient/hospital-related documents and participates to a proper management of information and relevant reporting.

Contributes to any other activities, which may be considered necessary by the respective line managers
