Registered Ward Nurse- Tripoli

We are based on a dedicated floor of a Lebanese hospital in Tripoli and have vacancies for registered nurses eager to join our surgical and rehabilitation teams We provide our patients pre and post- operative care, physical and psycho social support  , performing mainly orthopedic reconstruction operations   We value the work of a multidisciplinary international and national team and as such it will be necessary to speak and write English as well as be an Arabic speaker  If you enjoy the challenge of learning and following the ICRC protocols and standards for treatment of weapon wounded patients Are patient focused in your nursing practice, enjoy working in a complex environment Are ready to participate in training and development as an active member of a multi disciplinary team You are invited to apply for the Ward Nurse position  You will need : Strong technical knowledge and skills in basic nursing care and a nursing focus such as orthopaedics ,rehabilitation of physically challenged patients, surgical care, intensive care    If you are selected to join our team , an orientation and ongoing peer support to your nursing practice is  assured  Minimum required knowledge & experience:  ·              University degree or professional diploma ·              3 - 5 years work experience in a similar field ·              Good knowledge of written and spoken English  Standard function description: ·              Performs nursing activities mainly independently ·              Supervises nurse helpers SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES   Provides a full range of therapeutic and nursing care activities to the patient Receives new patients and prepares patients for Operation Documents patients information in the medical file as per policies and procedures Inserts/ monitors Intravenous lines Administers medications (intravenously, intramuscular, subcutaneous, orally, rectally) as prescribed by physician Performs dressing change using aseptic techniques as per the prescribed protocol Takes vital signs, empty drains and documents patient’s intake output on nursing charts and patient’s medical file Assesses patient’s physical, emotional, mental and psychological status and reports any changes to Surgeon postoperatively Provides patient education to patient/family Coordinates patient’s activities and treatment between different departments Wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment when needed Supervises the Nurse Assistant job duties Conducts ongoing assessments as determined by the patient’s condition and/or policies, procedures or protocols and reprioritizes care accordingly. Documents patient assessment findings, physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution Maintains confidentiality in matters related to patient, family and staff Reports patient condition to appropriate personnel during each shift Participates in the Quality Improvement plan of the department Ensures adequate supplies (Medication, Medical equipment, etc…) and stock is available to meet patient’s needs Applies Universal Precaution techniques Abides by ICRC policies and procedures
