Purpose:
As part of the Protection Department at the level of Sub Delegations/given area of responsibility, contributes to the implementation and monitoring of the delegation's objectives, strategy, and guidelines on all aspects of the ICRC response to the needs of Missing persons as a consequence of the different conflicts which took place in Lebanon since 1975 and the needs of their families, as well as the Restablishment of Family Links (RFL) and tracing response of the ICRC to the needs of Lebanese, Syrians, and other nationals in Lebanon separated by conflict, other situations of violence, and migration.
Certifications / Education required
University degree in law, political sciences, economics or social sciences or relevant work experience
Fluent Arabic and English
Computer literacy
Professional Experience and Skills required
2 - 3 years previous experience for instance in social, political, humanitarian, or similar fields
Good knowledge of the geographically assigned environment
Good analytical skills, attention to details and ability to work in a systematic manner
Accountabilities & Responsibilities: Functional responsibilities
Accompaniment and support to the families
Under the supervision of the Protection delegate of Tyr sub-delegation (SD) and in close coordination with the Beirut-based Accompaniment Coordinator for technical aspects, contributes to the design, planning and implementation of accompaniment activities in her/his area of responsibility, supports the implementation in other areas as and when needed, and supports accompaniers' activities:
- Collection of Ante Disappearance Data (ADD) and Biological Reference Samples (BRS)
Under the supervision of the Protection delegate of Tyr SD and in close coordination with the Beirut-based BRS Project Coordinator, and Quality Control Supervisor for technical aspects, plans, organizes, and implements the collection of Biological Reference Samples (BRS) and Ante Disappearance Data (ADD) in her/his area of responsibility in a timely and consistent manner and as per relevant guidelines, ensures proper follow up, and supports BRS and ADD collection in other areas, as and when needed;
- RFL and tracing
Under the supervision of the Protection delegate of Tyr SD and in close coordination with the Beirut-based Head of RFL unit for technical aspects:
Plans, organizes and implements the timely and consistent collection of Syria-related Tracing cases, RFL cases and Allegations of Arrest; migration-related Tracing cases, RFL cases, and Allegations of Arrest; and Lebanon-related Tracing and RFL cases; and
Follows up proactively, systematically, and in a timely manner on individual cases internally, with families/enquirers or with the relevant stakeholders.
Provides accurate, timely, and consistent analysis and reporting of the activities (including in the database used to this effect).
