Social Worker Field Officer

Minimum required knowledge & experience: Professional diploma or university degree in Sociology 3 - 5 years’ work experience in similar function Very good knowledge of spoken and written English Very good computer skills Good communication, analytical and team leadership skills         Standard function description: Social workers work with people to support them through difficult times and ensure that vulnerable people, including children and adults are safeguarded from harm. Their role is to provide support to enable service users to help themselves. They maintain professional relationships with service users, acting as guides and advocates. Maintains contacts with external interlocutors, in agreement with hospital project manager (HPM) Contributes to the implementation and monitoring of specific projects / programmes within the department Performs administrative and office activities for the support of the hospital project manager;            Screening Collaborates with members of the health team, the patient/family to assure patients’ psychosocial and socioeconomics needs are addressed wherever possible;          Admission/Discharge Recommending and sometimes making decisions about the best course of action for a particular service user; Educates patients and families on the roles of health care team members; assisting patients and families in communicating with one another and to members of the health care team; Coordinates patient discharge and continuity of care planning with respective health care team members and other NGOs or agencies;     Start of work : January 2016            Working base : Rafic Hariri University Hospital             Deadline to apply : December 3rd , 2015
