Responsibilities and tasks: Provide full translation of various documents (letters, reports, press releases, agreements, contracts, relevant emails, etc.) for ICRC Beirut delegation from Arabic to English. Provide interpretation (simultaneous, consecutive…) to the Head of Delegation and other ICRC staff members during meetings, workshops, presentations, etc. Provide translated summaries of documents upon request. Provide informative sight translation (quick verbal translation) of texts whenever required, prior to full written translation. Review and edit documents in Arabic or English, which may include correction, deletion, or addition. Write letters whenever requested in Arabic or English. Provide quick linguistic support: correct linguistic forms of grammar, syntax, spelling, and sentence structure, upon request. Remain updated on local and regional events and issues, particularly in relation to ICRC activities. Be a source of information for ICRC colleagues upon request, e.g. the official terminology used in Beirut, formal titles of institutions and officials locally and internationally, etc. Registers and treats information (general and specific) accurately and with confidentiality Minimum required knowledge & experience:   Bachelor degree in Translation   3 - 5 years work experience in a similar field   Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English   Good computer skills   Fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic
