Minimum required knowledge & experience:
University degree or professional diploma of nursing
3 - 5 years’ work experience in orthopedic department
Experience with nursing weapon wounded patients is an asset
Very good knowledge of written and spoken English
Very good computer skills

JOB DESCRIPTION
SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES
In charge of/coordinates all nursing activities in the acute weapon wounded and reconstructive orthopedic ward in the WTTC project
Coordinates patient’s activities and treatment between different departments and liaises with the multidisciplinary teams within and outside the WTTC on patient/services issues.
Supervises and evaluates nursing activities, provides professional supervision to ensure quality of patient’s care from admission to discharge.
Participates in and support the team during the morning night staff handover.
Ensures adequate documentation and follows up with multidisciplinary team when there are issues.
Contributes to the ICRC monthly reporting (Data collection, Monthly report…)
As per PfR, contributes to the plans of action and Result Based Management (RBM) monitoring
Supports the ward nurse to perform daily rounds with the multidisciplinary team and follows up medical orders.
Respecting adequate staffing levels in collaboration with the in charge of DAZ, manages and produces the nurse’s rosters
Supervises the orientation and training of new nursing colleagues.
With the support of the infection control responsible, ensures that universal precautions are followed and respected.
Investigates and resolves complaints and refers unusual problems to management.
Maintains and respects confidentiality related to patients, family and staff members of the WTTC
Ensures adequate supplies of medical consumables and equipment, and is responsible for stock management in the ward and updates inventories as required.
Manages staff performance appraisals yearly.
