Assistant, Country Communications Design

JOB SUMMARY

This position will support country mission goals and support its efforts to implement an integrated communications strategy that promotes and protects International Medical Corps’ brand across all media. The country communications team is responsible for working with Global Communications to ensure proper branding, messaging, public relations, media outreach, online presence, internal and external publications, and other outreach events and activities.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Under the direction of team leadership, support International Medical Corps’ mission by creating and designing collateral, visibility materials and other visual communications items
•    Assist team leadership with creating and designing collateral and visibility materials: pitching creative ideas and designs, creating production schedules, producing drafts and prototypes, creating engaging design solutions, collaborating with team members to launch designs
•    Assist in the efforts to maintain global brand standards and graphic guidelines
•    Assist in the efforts to ensure that visual communications, brand standards and graphic guidelines are met globally; help ensure that departments and teams implement the brand appropriately
•    Work with Communications team to create collateral for social media
•    Assist in the production of visual materials for internal and external use, including digital campaigns, print collateral, videos, presentations, reports and more
•    Assist in video production for a wide range of purposes and channels, working closely with the Global Communications team
•    Assist in the development and design of partner- and donor-facing collateral
•    Assist the efforts to manage the visual design aspects of special-event planning and production, including creation and design of event collateral
•    Provide images and video needed for presentations and other outreach as necessary
•    Help maintain photo library and video library, and fulfill duplication needs
•    Help coordinate the development and production of International Medical Corps visibility materials for field use by producing designs internally.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•    Typically, a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication or a related area; equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
•    1–3 years of relevant experience in related field
•    Strong design and creative skills in a broad range of mediums, including print and digital
•    Video-editing skills
•    Strong knowledge of typography, color, design theory and production
•    Strong knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, InDesign..)
•    Experience with the Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and PowerPoint
•    Familiarity with user experience and user interface design and processes
•    Familiarity in photography is plus.
•    Experience working within a content management system
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•    Ability to work successfully and effectively, both independently and as part of a team in a multicultural and participatory environment
•    Detail-oriented and precise
•    Proficiency in English and relevant local languages.
