Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Program
- Monitor the establishment of Bekaa activities under direct support and supervision of mental health field Officer.
- Set up activities and trainings in the Bekaa according to protocol and program development.
1. Advocacy and Awareness program, including community based awareness sessions
2. Mental health and Case Management Training Program
3. Mental Health and Gender Based Violence response services
4. Capacity Building initiatives in line with IASC MHPSS guidelines
5. Listening and Counseling Training
- Ensure the utilization and implementation of measuring tools to assess success in accordance to indicators of program.
- Ensure that M&E mechanisms are in place through M&E tools and analysis of program activities in the field as assigned by Regional Mental Health Coordinator and Senior Psychosocial Field Officer.
- Ensure coordination with the Health department and working in line with the IMC health officer in the Bekaa.
- Work closely with IMC national psychosocial staff and psychosocial logistics officer to ensure that psychosocial and clinical mental health programming and activities in the Bekaa are coordinated
- Program development and recommendations, as required.
- Ensure programming is on track in absence of direct supervisor; reporting daily on important issues that require supervisor feedback and decision making.
- The social worker will also be an essential source of providing accurate referrals when need be; i.e., the social worker will refer patients and clients to IMC supported clinics, hospitals, and centers; in addition to other local NGOs and INGOs. Moreover, the social worker will dispense information about the various programs and services offered by IMC and its affiliates.
- conducting interviews with service users (Displaced Syrians and host population) and their families to assess and review their situation;
- Liaising with, and making referrals of specific cases to IMC
- Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports for proper information flow and legal action;
- Participating in training, supervision and team meetings, and be main mental health focal point for IMC in the Bekaa, representing IMC in coordination meetings.
Reporting
- Keeps track of patient numbers/cases through IMC outpatient records, to be submitted at the end of every month.
- Data collection, collation and analysis.
- Submit minutes of meetings that take place in the Bekaa.
- Program documentation, data collection, analysis, final outcomes report for donor reports.
- Documentation of all activities and outcomes. Submit regular reports to Mental Health Coordinator.
- Office documentation and other duties as required by Mental health Coordinator.
- The mental health Field Officer will report directly to the Mental health Coordinator.
Requirements
- Social Work/ Psychology Degree
- Public health background is a plus
- Trained in Mental Health
- Fluent in spoken Arabic
- Previous NGO experience is a must
- Familiar with the IASC MHPSS guidelines in emergency settings.
- Personal interest in Gender Based Violence, women’s rights, educational and mental health issues.
- Willing to adhere to field schedule
- Good communication and teamwork skills
